Dangerous PFAS Chemicals Are in Your Food Packaging

This article from Consumer Report talks about how PFAS chemicals started and how some companies are still using them after they advised us that they have phased them out of packaging materials.
Many countries around the world are making their own testing standard for the level of added or organic PFAS. California has passed a bill that food packaging must have less than 100 parts per million of organic fluorine, but Denmark has made a limit of 20 parts per million.
“If they can get to 100 ppm, they should be able to get to 20 ppm,” Peaslee says. “Lower is always the ultimate goal.”
