The research, highlighting significant knowledge gaps, stresses the need for more rigorous scrutiny of food contact chemicals, which often migrate from packaging into food, increasing exposure risks. Despite some measures like the use of glass containers to reduce chemical leaching, the researchers advocate for stronger regulatory frameworks to better protect public health from these pervasive contaminants.
